"GMO to feed growing populations" is a huge unscientific illusion and deceit, because:

- Biotech can impossibly genetically engineer crop plants continuously to keep pace with population growth.

- Higher crop yields require higher plant nutrient inputs. Soil fertility is reduced by higher yields. Natural and artificial fertilisers are limited resources. Mechanised agriculture will decline for lack of fuels and fertilisers in the imminent Post peak-oil period. There is no equivalent alternative to oil, neither quantitavely nor qualitatively .

- Genetically engineered crop plants cannot deal with these problems. On the contrary: the GMOed "qualities" demand more pesticides, whereas the weeds get resistent against the same chemicals. It's a devil's scenario.
