Glossary of abbreviations:
  • BPE = Business, Politics and the discipline of Economics - the compact of opinion leaders who govern the world.
  • ECONOMIC GROWTH = The difference in GDP between one year and the previous one. GDP=Money=Material. "Dematerialised growth" is nonsense sublime.
  • HOT = Hope Optimism Technology - the belief that the future will brings the miracle solutions.
  • LSM = Lame Stream Media - the majority of media, uncritically reproducing what the BPE Compact propounds, including the such stupidities as "sustainable growth".
  • OVERSHOOT = Too many people consuming too much resources, possibly more than 400 times in excess of the planet's carrying capacity.
  • PIP = People In Power.
  • PPOD = Post Peak Oil Downslope - the irredeemable reduction of agricultural and industrial production after the end of peak oil availability.
  • PPRD = Post Peak Resources Downslope - the societal downslope because of diminishing resources and increased scarcities of food, water, space, minerals and energy.
  • EGL - Economic Growth Lunacy or EGBD - Eternal Growth Belief Disorder. [The American Psychiatry association APA considers an entry of this disorder in the DSM-V manual (edition 2013).]
